Rhinebeck, New York nestled in the Hudson Valley is rumored to be the location of Chelsea Clinton and finance Marc Mezvinsky’s wedding.  They are to tie the know this coming Saturday July 31st.  It has been reported by CBS that the wedding will take place at  the Astor Courts.

With Spain’s big World Cup win, I thought I’d blog about some of my favorite Spanish Wedding customs.

1. In true Spanish wedding tradition the bride will wear a traditional silk, black dress with an accompanying black lace veil held in place by combs.

A bride from the Andalusia region may wear a flamingo style dress to honor the old Spanish wedding customs of that region.

2.Brides carry orange blossom bouquets or wear wreaths or tiaras decorated with orange blossoms. This is to symbolize a life of happiness and fulfillment for the couple.

3.In Spanish wedding customs, the wedding ceremony is held in the early evening.

4.The bride and groom will give their guests small wedding favors.

The Groom will also give the men cigars at some time during the reception.

The bride will give the women who are single small pins that are worn upside down. A Spanish wedding custom says that if a woman looses the pin during the reception she is believed to be the next to get married.

5. The bride is expected to embroider a groom’s wedding shirt to wear at the wedding ceremony.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are getting married in July, the Ottawa Citizen has learned.

The specific date and location remain under wraps and that seems to be fueling speculation and gossip about the high-profile nuptials between the singer and hockey player.

Can’t wait to find out the color scheme, wedding gown and bridesmaids’ dresses styles.  And where will they marry – Ottawa?  I hope!!!  I’m sure this wedding is going to be gorgeous!

The only news I heard through fellow bloggers is that the wedding cake will be one of cupcakes.  We’ll have to wait to see if this is correct!

I think I may have just found the best job in the world.  CNN reports, ” wanted: Luxury-loving couples available to globetrot for six months and get paid to test out the most romantic wedding and honeymoon destinations around the world.

It’s a hard offer to resist, but what’s being described as “The Ultimate Job” is just the latest in a series of recent dream positions to capture the public’s imagination and serve as a brilliant marketing tool for people and places.”

They have had a great response with more than 1,000 couples have already applied for the chance to be sent to resorts in Africa, Europe, Asia and the United States.

“The winners will be asked to blog about their experiences a few times a week “when they can get out of the hammock after sipping a glass of champagne,” Meleady said, and write for The Irish Times once a month.”

They will also be paid 20,000 euros (about $27,000). Hopefuls have until April 7 to apply for the “horrendous assignment” — as the company teasingly calls it — which starts mid-May.

You don’t have to be Irish to apply, but you do have to tout Ireland as part of the process.

ABC aired the wedding of “Bachelor” couple Jason and Molly Mesnick Monday, March 8.  What a beautiful wedding!  With all the rain that poured on their wedding day, Jason and Molly Mesnick should have all the luck in the world.

Selecting your wedding dress is by far the most exciting part of wedding planning. But once that’s done its onto bridesmaid’s dresses, reception decor, and what will your wedding color be?

Salma Hajek & Francois-Henri Pinault.  The beautiful actress married the billionaire at a 18th-century opera house in Venice.  She looked absolutely gorgeous in her Balenciaga wedding gown, designed by Nicholas Ghesquiere .  This wedding was reported as being all about love, family, friends and song!

Ivanka Tump & Jared Kushner.  Ivanka wore a stunning wedding gown custom-made by Vera Wang.  They married at Trump National Golf Club in the presence of 500 guests.

Ali Larter & Hayes MacArthur. Heroes actress Ali Larter tied the knot with actor Hayes MacArthur at his parents’ estate in Kennebunkport, Maine. The dress is part of the Vera Wang Luxe Collection and is called Luxe Le Notre. It retails for $8,900.

Mad Men babe Christina Hendricks and (500) Days of Summer actor Geoffrey Arend wed at Il Buco restaurant in New York City in October 2009.  Christina was wearing a Carolina Herrera wedding gown which looked absolutely stunning on her.

On Sunday October 25th, 2009 the beautiful and classy Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump and Ivana Trump, married Jared Kushner, publisher of the New York Observer.

The wedding was held at one of Donald Trump’s golf courses.  Ivanka wore a beautiful gown designed by Vera Wang with an elegant lace overlay.  It was reported that the jewelry she wore was from for own collection.  She looked absolutely elegant!

This neckline works with a single strap coming across the front and is a very unique style. It emphasizes the collarbone, and is a very sexy look for 2009-2010 gowns.  These are my top 3  favorites.  What do you think?

This Chinese wedding is one that will go down in history. A Chinese bride dressed in a 2,162-meter-long wedding gown handmade by her groom’s family on her wedding day Thursday August 6th, 2009 in northeast China’s Jilin Province.

More than 200 wedding guests took more than three hours to completely unroll the wedding train, and pin 9,999 red roses made of silk on the wedding train Thursday morning, before the bride put on the dress.

The groom Zhao Peng, a 28-year-old railway worker, wanted to challenge the current Guinness World Record of a wedding dress of 1,579 meters long.

After the wedding he cut the dress to 1,984.1,022 meters, representing the number of his bride’s birthday.  What a romantic idea!  The groom had 608 crystals stitched on the dress train in memory of their 608 dating days, starting from the first time he met with her.

Wondering how much this cost?  He bought the materials and asked his relatives for help in making the wedding dress by hand, which has taken three months to finish, and cost him some 40,000 yuan (5,856 U.S. dollars).

His aunt, a dressmaker, agreed to make the design. Other family members helped search for wedding information, select dress patterns, buy the materials, do lacework, make the silk roses and stitch crystals on the dress.
