1. Involve children and grandchildren in the celebration and ceremony.

2. Invite the original wedding attendants to the ceremony.

3. Create a slide show of the first ceremony.

4. Create an anniversary cake with the original cake topper, if you still have it.  Have the same flavor cake made with the same cake accessories.

5.  Personalize the wedding vows to reflect the accomplishments they have made together.

The year I got married is an easy one to remember, the year 2000!  Aside from being the beginning of a new millennium, the zeros I hope will help my husband remember the important milestone anniversaries.  Hopefully when we get to our 25th anniversary, the theory will hold true.  I’ll have to tell you know :)

We have seen the popularity of choosing fun and easy to remember dates.  The most popular was July 7, 2007 and last year’s August 8, 2008.  Well now we get ready for 999 or September 9, 2009, a popular date for the Chinese.   This culture associates many of their luck with things and numbers.  The number nine is not any different, holding a meaning of longevity and eternality for the Chinese.  If a man in China were to send nine roses to his loved one, the meaning of this arrangement would be everlasting.

What an appropriate theme for a wedding!

Tiaras – You may want to wear a tiara and feel like a princess, but it’s not the trend in 2009.  Try velcro-in gem stones in flowing hair or bun jewelry that can be simply be clipped into your hairstyle.

Ava Rhinestone Corkscrew Hair Jewels

This beautiful set along with many others can be found at HerWeddingShop.  Call the Ava Rhinestone Corkscrew Hair Jewels, take your “everyday” hair style and elevate it to “special day” with these simple little rhinestone jewels. Just pull your hair into a ponytail, bun or twist it up with a clip, then place the jewel on top of your hairdo and turn it clockwise a few times to secure. The corkscrew disappears, and all you see is sparkling rhinestone. Our hair jewels come in a set of six and can be scattered throughout your hair, or clustered together for a little more drama. Consider buying more than one set for maximum sparkle.

Long Sleeved Bridal Gowns – Say bye-bye to long sleeved gowns and forget about the puff sleeved.  I’m not saying sleeves are totally out, brides are purchasing gowns with cap sleeves.  It’s the simple sleeve styles that are in this year.

Paloma Blanca

This beautiful Paloma Blanca dress is one of my favorites with the detachable beaded bolero jacket.

Dull Colored Bridesmaid Dresses - Ciao to the dull colours.  We don’t want to bridesmaids to fade out in the pictures, make them stand out with bright and beautiful colors.

Bright Beautiful colored dresses

Don’t we scared to bring in some bright colours to your wedding.   This is particularly the case if getting married in the spring, where bright colours are most popular.
