They always say that a wedding day is the most awaited day of every woman’s life. That’s why grooms try their best to realize their brides’ dream wedding. I think of weddings otherwise. I think weddings are especially important for both the bride and the groom.

To make the wedding memorable as well for your husband-to-be, here are 3 tips:

Tip 1

When you start making the wedding plans, ask him what he likes to happen on that day. Having a wedding you both put together would be romantically memorable. If his ideas won’t meet yours, try meeting half-way. Like having a gadget-themed engagement party that he likes and a garden wedding that you wanted.

Tip 2

Ask him where he likes to have his attire done. At times, with so many things going on, we (the bride) tend to direct everyone, including our husbands-to-be. Asking him where he likes to have his stuff bought or made would make him feel more comfortable with the process.

Tip 3

Ask his opinions about your wedding checklist. You might even surprise yourself that he got an idea or two. In fact, you will have better ideas when you brainstorm not just with your maid-of-honor and wedding planner, but with your husband as well.

Imagine Staying at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel for $16.80 A Night!

The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City has been world renowned for over a century. Rooms and rates can range from $300 – $800 per night. A New England couple that’s been married for 60 years just celebrated their anniversary at the Waldorf-Astoria, the same place they spent their wedding night in 1952. The price they paid back then was $16.80. The price they’ll pay the weekend on their anniversary visit is STILL $16.80.

How did they pull that off? Apparently, old lady Waldorf has a policy of charging only the original room rate for returning guests who are celebrating a special event. According to the NY Daily News, who wrote Wednesday’s piece on the New England couple, about two or three couples make use of the perk every year.

Isidore and Joan Schwartz (yes, those are actually their names) even still have their original receipt from their 1952 stay at the Waldorf-Astoria.

So if you ever stay at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel make sure you keep your receipt. Who knows, in 60 years it might come in handy.

Fun Facts About Weddings

I was surfing the web the other day and came across these fun facts about where some of our traditions came from. I thought you would enjoy me sharing them with you.

Wedding Bouquet
For ancient Greeks and Romans, the bouquet was a pungent mix of garlic and herbs or grains. The garlic was supposed to ward off evil spirits and the herbs or grains were to insure a fruitful union. In ancient Poland, it was believed that sprinkling sugar on the bride’s bouquet kept her temper sweet.

Wedding Cake
The wedding cake has always played an important part in the wedding. Ancient Romans broke a cake over the bride’s head to symbolize fertility or abundance. Many other cultures dropped wheat, flour or cake on the bride’s head, and then ate the crumbs for good luck. The early British baked baskets of dry crackers and every guest took one home after the wedding. In medieval times, guests brought small cakes and piled them on a table. The bride and groom then attempted to kiss over the cakes. Eventually, a young baker decided to put all the cakes together and cover them with frosting, thus the tiered wedding cake was born.

Wedding Dress
Traditionally, brides did not wear white wedding gowns. Through the 18th century, most brides just wore their Sunday best to their wedding. Red was a favorite during the Middle Ages in Europe. Other colors were worn for symbolic reasons: blue meant constancy and green meant youth. As years passed, white was worn as a symbol of purity. Today, white merely symbolizes the wedding and is worn by any bride, no matter if it is their second marriage.

Honeymoon
The first weddings comprised of a groom taking his bride by capture. He would take her somewhere hidden away so her relatives and villagers couldn’t find them. There they stayed for one moon phase and drank mead, a wine make from honey, to make them more amorous. Thus, the word “honeymoon” was born. Today, the honeymoon is the time when the couple can get away for awhile.

Wedding Kiss
The first kiss a bride and groom share at the close of the ceremony has carried special significance through the centuries. Many cultures believed that the couple exchanged spirits with their breath and part of their souls were exchanged as well.

Engagement/Wedding Ring
The wedding ring has traditionally been worn on the third finger of the left hand because it was believed that a vein in this finger ran directly to the heart. The third finger of the left hand has become the customary wedding-ring finger for all English-speaking cultures.

Throwing Rice
One of the oldest wedding traditions, the custom of throwing rice, originated with the ancient Hindus and Chinese. In these cultures, rice is the symbol of fruitfulness and prosperity. Tossing it after the ceremony was believed to bestow fertility upon the bride and groom. Eating rice and other grains was thought to guarantee health, wealth and happiness for the newlyweds. Today, rice tossing is being replaced by the more ecologically friendly birdseed tossing, because uncooked rice is damaging to birds who eat it off the church lawn.

Bridal Veil
Mystique and romance has surrounded the veil for more than one thousand years. Originally, the veil is thought to have been used to hide the bride from abductors, just as the similar dress of her bridesmaids was meant to do. But a more romantic interpretation evolved later which believed that concealment (as the bride’s face beneath a veil) rendered what was hidden more valuable. Another early interpretation of the veil was that it symbolized youth and virginity.

Incase you haven’t heard, Pinterest is hot! Pinterest is the fastest growing social network on the Internet — so hot that it has had more traffic referrals than LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google+ combined in January!

So what does Pinterest have to do with your wedding? Pinterest gives you the ability to create bulletin boards. You can organize them by categories such as wedding flowers, wedding decorating, wedding venues, food ideas, wedding invitations, wedding hairstyles etc. Then as you surf the Web and you find things that you might want to remember or share, you can pin them to the appropriate board. Your friends and family will see your pins and can re-pin those things or comment on them. Or better yet, you can share them with your local wedding vendors when meeting for quotes and consultations.

Pinterest is an easy way to make planning a wedding more manageable. It’s like ripping the pages out of wedding magazines and taping them to your bulletin board — but digitally.

So, I presume you have been shot by winged Cupid with one of his arrowed desires and now you are marrying Prince Charming! Congratulations!!! How does your wedding décor reflect your love and excitement? What do you choose for this themed wedding? Let’s see:

1. Start with Valentine’s-inspired invitations (make sure you don’t overwhelm your guests with too much “sweetie” messages and images).
2. Use as many candles as your ceremony and venue location will allow you to. Candles are extremely romantic, so along with red rose petals let them be your main wedding decor. Take into consideration candelabras or specialty design candles for Valentine’s day.

2012 New Year Resolutions

Well, here we are in mid-January and most of us have already broken our new year’s resolutions. That’s why I personally don’t make them any longer. Do you know what the top ten New Year’s resolutions are? Take a look and see if yours is on the list.

1. Spend more time with family and friends
2. Get in shape
3. Lose weight
4. Quit Smoking
5. Enjoy life more
6. Quit Drinking
7. Get out of debt
8. Learn something new
9. Help others
10. Get organized

These are all very honourable resolutions. If we could keep them all we would be much better people, much healthier and certainly model citizens. The truth though is that we are human beings and human beings are not perfect. I try to follow the rule of moderation and avoid the excesses in life although my wife and my doctor would tell you that #3 is a must for me in 2012.

One of the things that I am trying to learn is to not make my goals so unreachable. If we could learn to live one day at a time and at the end of each day look back and assess our day in terms of what we are trying to achieve, we would be far better off. If I didn’t do so well today, I’ll try even harder tomorrow.

You know what? Marriage is really a resolution only a lifetime resolution. If we could just learn to take one day at a time and at the end of each day look back and ask ourselves the question. What could I have done better today? I’m talking about taking an honest look at ourselves. In every criticism of your spouse, I believe there is an element of truth no matter how much it hurts to hear it. Consider at the end of the day what your spouse has said and see if maybe there is something there that you could work on. That’s how marriages last. Have a wonderful 2012.

By Chinese betrothal custom, the groom presents his bride’s family with a whole celebratory suckling pig. The pork, a culinary symbol of the girl’s virginity, is roasted patiently to a crackling ruddy brown. But at a recent engagement party in Hong Kong, the food came quickly, turned out by restaurant workers at the pace of the city stirring outside.

In January, McDonald’s added wedding packages to its Hong Kong menu. This is the only city in the world where the American restaurant chain offers the service, prompted by frequent inquiries about fast-food weddings from customers in recent years. Now, three McDonald’s locations are equipped to stage marital festivities in the style of any 6-year-old’s model birthday.

In Honk Kong, a ceremonial wedding dinner of 20 crimson-clothed tables begins at about $38,000, and the betrothed are unlikely to know personally a majority of the invitees. In a moment of economic recovery, this kind of decadence has, for some, simply lost allure. Coco Wong, Hong Kong’s first wedding planner, still predominantly organizes conventional banquets. But, she says, the scale and gravity of these spreads is on the decline: “Couples are beginning to prefer smaller affairs with just the people they know, weddings that are more intimate and softer on the budget.”

For Ashley Tse and Kwong’s engagement party, in an area in one restaurant’s rear cordoned off from the public, goody bags are stuffed with plush McDonaldland characters. A McDonald’s M.C. coordinates games while waitresses deal out cheeseburgers. A cake is a pyramid of green apple-pie cartons. Dozens of heart-shaped balloons — it is Valentine’s Day, after all — hover in the corners of the room in rosy clumps. The future bride, Tse, weeping from the excitement of it, wears a balloon ring and carries an inflated bouquet.

Dream of Happiness?

One day last month, I was driving along heading to a wedding rehearsal listening to my favourite talk radio station when I heard this statement and I quote “don’t let your dreams get in the way of your happiness”. I thought that was a very interesting comment so I listened for a while then closed down the radio and mulled over what I had heard.

You know what? I learned at a very young age that no matter how much I wanted to be a hockey player, a great athlete or even do a job that required hard physical labour, that it wasn’t going to happen. You see, I was born with a birth injury to my left arm that left me with a physical impediment, or a promise of a life different than that, one that I wouldn’t trade for anything now.

Then there are the dreams that are possible. Dreams like making a million dollars by the time you are 40, dreams of a great job making 200,000 per year with a beautiful home in the suburbs, a beautiful wife and two kids, a pool in the backyard and at least 3 newer model cars in the driveway. Sometimes we become obsessed with making these dreams happen at the expense of our happiness. Have you heard the saying that “when you are dealt a lemon, make lemonade”.

So, you might find yourself doing something less that you dreamed about, making ends meet but very much unhappy about your lot in life. What if you focused on your present situation and what you can do to make the best of what you are doing. What if you thought real hard about what you could do to make your job more efficient and effective. What if you set down and started to look backwards and began counting your many blessings like family, friends and all the good things in life that make you happy. Do so, and you will find your attitude changing. In the midst of all your positive thinking and attitude adjustment you may find opportunity coming from the very place where you least expected it.

There is a book that I highly recommend called ‘The Butterfly Effect’. By Andy Andrews. It is only about a 30 minute read because it is quite small. If you want to be encouraged, please look it up online and buy it. The Butterfly Effect: How Your Life Matters

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having dreams and goals. In fact, if you want to get ahead in life you have to have a goal, a vision and the ambition to get there. What I am saying is that we shouldn’t let our dreams control the way we live our lives at the present. I can’t imagine anyone on their death bed regretting that they hadn’t given their company more hours or worked harder, or not fulfilled their dreams. Most likely the regrets will be that we had our priorities in the wrong place, that we perhaps lost what we loved the most because of our selfish ambitions.

Dream, and dream big, but don’t let it get in the way of being happy and don’t let it get in the way of the really important things of life.

Marriage is a Clay Figure

There are a host of things these days that can disrupt our marriages if we allow it to happen. I believe though, and I will admit to the same problem, that the general basis of most marital disagreement is selfishness. We all pay lip service to sayings like “marriage is a give and take” and many more like that. Sometimes you have to lose your life in order to find it. Some will say, “lose my life? You mean I have to give up who I am as a person?” Well we do it in many other aspects of our life. We give up our own wants and desires many times for our bosses who demand us to work 12-14 hour days sometimes, and often with no extra pay. Doesn’t a partner in life deserve the same effort from you and the same willingness to give?

This is the part of the ceremony I read one day and I quote. “The true art of married life is an inner spiritual journey. It is a mutual enrichment, a give and take between two personalities, a mingling of two endowments which diminishes neither, but enhances both. I would like to share with you this poem about this mingling, called “Married Love,” which was written by a medieval poet about seven hundred years ago. In the English translation, it reads:

“You and I
Have so much love,
That it burns like a fire,
In which we bake a lump of clay
Molded into a figure of you
And a figure of me.
Then we take both of them,
And break them into pieces,
And mix the pieces with water,
And mold again a figure of you and a figure of me.
I am in your clay.
You are in my clay.”

The fall season is close and the fashion world is getting ready. Fashion for weddings, from bride’s gowns to bridesmaid’s dresses, have also started to go with the season with different cuts and colors. For fall, earth colors are in. Neutral tones are in for the season, raspberry hues, together with radiant bronze colors, the latest colors for the fall season is dark olive, spicy nutmeg, brilliant oranges.

The fall also signifies a very big change in nature’s life cycle. Time to get ready for the cold winter months. Catering menus usually revolve around what harvest is plentiful. A lot of caterers use natural and organic ingredients from local farmers.

The bride’s wedding dress is probably one of the more memorable things during the wedding. During the fall season, brides usually go for full ball gowns with longer veils and bold jewels. How Is Your Memory?

I know quite a bit about weddings having performed close to 300 of them in the past several years. However, knowing about weddings is a far cry from knowing about marriage. Being married to the same lady for 44 years should also qualify to know something about marriage, but not necessarily yours. In any case, if even one or two of the things I have picked up over the last 44 years, are helpful to you then it has been all worthwhile.

One important tip I can recommend, something I have always done is, I remembered my anniversary and don’t even have to ask my wife. I have always made an effort to remember my wife’s birthday, our anniversary, my Son and Daughter-In-Law’s birthdays and anniversary and the grand kids’ birthdays etc… With the technology we have these days with iPods and Smartphones, there should be no excuse for forgetting an important date. Most calendars will even email you reminders. Guys, be honest, we have no problem remembering the things that are important to us or interest us. Most men know who won the Stanley Cup this year and who won the Super Bowl last year. Forgetting your anniversary or any special date is not good and sends a strong signal that maybe you just don’t care enough to remember. That signal may bring a cold chill that could last for several days, if you know what I mean.

I heard a cute story a few years back about the two guys who were golfing. They had just set up to tee off on the 18th hole when one of the gentlemen stopped, took off his hat and put it over his heart while a funeral possession was going by. His buddy commented afterwards about being impressed over his friend’s display of respect. He said: “Do you do that for all funerals?” His friend’s response was: “No I don’t but this one was special; she was a good wife for almost 40 years.” What’s important to you these days???

Kate Middleton in for a Fashion Whirlwind for Canada Visit

As Canadians prepare themselves for the royal visit of the newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, there’s plenty of talk going around about what the new royal is going to wear as she visits the country.

According to Weddingbells Magazine’s editor-in-chief Alison McGill, it’s not unlikely for Kate Middleton to have more than 40 wardrobe changes during her short but sweet visit to the country. She expects Kate to have 2 to 3 wardrobe changes daily. McGill also points out that there’s a lot of pressure on the Duchess to meet the world’s expectations of her being a new fashion icon, just as Princess Diana was during her heyday. Kate however, seems to be rising to the challenge, taking her job with an authority that’s rarely been seen before, she adds.

What’s even more surprising is that while the royals will be accompanied by a hairdresser, the Duchess won’t be visiting with a dresser, or lady-in-waiting. This essentially means that Kate will be doing the dressing on her own, and is relatively free to make choices on her wardrobe.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper sent out invitations to the royal couple after announcing their engagement to the world in November last year. The newlyweds are dropping by for some R&R and diplomatic duties just in time for the Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa. The royal newlyweds are expected to stay for a total of nine days, in which they will go through a tour of Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Quebec and Prince Edward Island.

The fashion world however, will be keeping a close eye on Middleton’s fashion picks, hoping to spot any trends that the leggy Duchess may kick off.

However, just because you don’t have the budget to fly your friends and loved ones to these destinations, doesn’t mean you can’t have your very own beach themed wedding—heck, you can even have one in Toronto in the middle of January.

A beach wedding can come in many forms; you don’t really have to limit yourself to a beach location to hold the wedding you’re aiming for. You can easily compensate with accessories, theme variations and decor.

Playing around with Themes

Aside from the obvious beach and coastline location, what comes to your mind when you think about a beach wedding? For example, if you’ve always wanted a wedding reception by the beach under the stars, you can always book an outdoor wedding and pick a clear and starry night to hold your reception.

If lighthouses remind you of the beach, you can play around with a lighthouse theme for your wedding. If you can rent an old lighthouse in your vicinity, then by all means, go for it. If that’s not possible, you can always pick a secluded area (if possible near the ocean) and play around with the motif.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding Attracts Record Numbers on TV

To those who think that the Royal Family is nothing but a tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, the viewership numbers of the recent royal wedding just may change your mind

The telecast of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding ceremonies drew in more than 26 million viewers—that’s one of the largest audiences in the history of UK television. The total number of viewers across BBC One, BBC News, Sky News and Sky Living, and ITV1 were combined peaking at the 26 million mark on Friday morning. This number includes the hundreds of viewers crowding to watch public screens across the UK, and those gathering at Hyde Park to watch the spectacle live.

According to survey reports, more than 90% of Britons and those living across the United Kingdom with an available television witnessed the ceremony.

Though very impressive, the royal wedding failed to match the audience draws of some of the most historic moments of television. The most viewed television event is still England’s 1966 win in the Wold Cup, which drew more than 32.3 million viewers; Princess Diana’s funeral, which drew in 32.1 million; the divorce episode of Den and Angine on Eastenders, with 30.1 million; and finally, the most viewed royal wedding of all time, Charles and Diana’s Wedding, with 28.4 million.

Its worth pointing out however, that television viewership in general has been on a slow but steady decline, largely due to the advent of the Internet. Statistics have yet to be released on the number of Internet users who saw live streams of the ceremony online. Analysts predict that the number will also be record-breaking.

Does it often make you want to drool upon the sight of movies that would often play the major drama between two people falling in-love with each other but the only problem is that they belong from two different worlds? The other one would be filthy rich and the other, works hard for a living. Even if this is the case though, they would still fall for each other but their families would have issues about each other’s familial backgrounds, culture and economic status. You would think that Jumping the Broom is just one of those movies but you shall figure that “sometimes, the only way to get past family drama… is to jump right over it” says the movie tag line.

Martha’s Vineyard might have been a place of full confusion and raised brows when two families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds met up to figure that they are in for a wedding treat! This movie is all about that, how two people, in order to avoid having their families telling them what to do or to simply forget about the one they love because of issues of money or background kicks in.

It is definitely one of those movies that would give you a hilarious approach in the otherwise dramatic situation. Love is really very powerful. For sure, there are a lot of people who would suddenly feel that there are ways when they could simply forget about how others would take their relationships to end up together. Fighting for love? Well definitely, no matter who gets in the way, if love is true, love would conquer all.

Weddings, well does it not make you feel like love and romance makes the world perfect regardless of all the hassles that you faced before? It is a great way to rejoice love and commitment. However, brides would attest to it that weddings mean more than walking down the aisle and uttering the words “I do.” because it is also during this time when they identify who their real friends are. Girls just love weddings but the hassle that come with it, preparations and all, often make you wonder if anyone is willing to stand by your side and be stressed out with you. Finally, a movie that would stage the drama of being the bridesmaids.

Universal Pictures and Judd Apatow, the producer of Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin came up with a movie that is dedicated to the women that helps the bride- the bridesmaids. In here Annie played by Kristen Wiig is the maid of honor to her close friend Lilian played by Maya Rudolph. The road to matrimony is one wild thing because Annie does not have the best state of life, she is broke and lovelorn. She finds her way into bluffing with expensive and extremely bizarre rituals. She only wanted it to be perfect and to chase the love that would make her complete.

This Spring movie is definitely a must see. The trailer will make one roll on the floor laughing but it sure would touch the heart in different ways. It is a movie that is not just for the brides but more especially, for the bridesmaids.

Inside Look into the Paper Wedding Dress Contest by Cheap Chic Weddings

It’s amazing what some people can do with a few dozen rolls of toilet paper and a lot of creativity.

A few months back, we did a feature on the 2010 Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest by Cheap Chic Weddings. The story attracted quite a bit of attention, and we’re very pleased to share that one of the contest’s participants sent us a message detailing her experience on the annual event.

Katherine Moon, who hails from Chatham, Ontario, has joined the contest for the past two years. In 2009, her toilet paper dress won 6^th place, while her 2010 creation placed 4^th—a very impressive achievement, seeing as how Katherine was pitted against 900 participants from all over the world.

Katherine’s dress for 2009 was a very memorable one, as it was featured in an online video for being the only dress that used pink toilet paper. Her latest creation was also featured on Cheap Chic’s website. Her other entries include a bouquet, headpiece and even a pair of high heels made from toilet paper.

Needless to say, Katherine had an amazing time working on her entries and seeing them featured on the site. As a disabled retiree, the experience was even more fulfilling.

March and April Wedding Themes and Colours Suggestions

The colours brought in by Spring always make for a great backdrop for any wedding. If you’re looking to celebrate a wedding sometime around March or April, take a breather and go through our ideas for themes and colours that suit this time of the year. You’re cutting it awfully close, but you have more than enough time to whip up a wedding that’s guaranteed to be memorable.

When you think of Spring weddings, we’re guessing that the first that comes into your mind are all different sorts of blooming flowers, bursts of warm and vibrant colours, and of course, a re-emergence of life all over. Many wedding planners like the Spring because it’s the season where many flowers bloom naturally, including daisies, lilies, daffodils and tulips. March and April brides typically go for yellow and lavender pastels, as well as eye-pleasing combinations like red and darker shades of pink, as well as pink and green. You can even go for a totally pink look (albeit in different shades) to create a stunning effect.

For themes, you can go for butterflies and cherry blossoms. If you or your partner has Irish ancestry, you can also draw inspiration from St. Paddy’s Day.

Remember that these are just suggestions for themes and colours, so if you plan to do hold a wedding in some exotic destination outside North America, you’ll have to do a lot more work, with more factors to take into account. Although we think the suggestions above are perfect for the Spring months, there’s no reason why they can’t be used during any time of the year.

The world may be buzzing with excitement for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding ceremonies to be held on April, but that’s not stop British supermodel Kate Moss from making her own waves in the world wedding scene.

Just recently, Moss shared that she’s very interested in having two of rock music’s most revered bands, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin, perform at her upcoming wedding to rocker Jamie Hince on July. Aside from the two bands, the catwalk sensation, known for her waifish yet chic looks, has been rumoured to be working on a list of bands and acts whom she would like to play at her nuptials to Hince.

The goal is to turn the affair into a “mini version” of the popular annual Glastonbury festival. Rumoured to be on this exclusive list of A-listers are Kanye West, The Clash, Duran Duran and more. Indeed, it seems Kate Moss isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to planning a memorable wedding, and if her plans push through, she just might steal the spotlight from the royal couple—at least when it comes to the entertainment aspect of things.

According to a source close to the English supermodel, Moss is working double time to bring together her friends in music and the acts she adores into one memorable event. She’s reported to have made nonstop calls to sign up her dream acts.

When Prince William and Kate Middleton walk down the aisle in 40 days, guests at the royal wedding could include several people with whom they were romantically involved at one time.

It’s time for another update on the year’s biggest wedding event.

With less than 40 days to go before Prince William and Kate Middleton walk down the aisle and officially tie the knot in front of a star-studded collection of guests, rumours abound as to who’s invited and who’s not. You may think that inviting some past flames to your wedding may be a bad idea, but that’s exactly what the royal couple intend to do on their big day.

According to Victoria Arbiter, royal contributor for CBS News, there are a number of surprising additions to the guest list that may raise some eyebrows. Insider sources share that recently invited guests include Kate’s first boyfriend in university. Prince William on the other hand, has apparently invited four of his ex-girlfriends—you can expect to see Jecca Craig, Arabella Musgrave and Olivia Hunt at the ceremonies.

Of course, close friends of the bride and groom are quick to defend these additions. All of William’s exes are apparently good friends with Kate—she even visited Craig’s estate in Kenya. Still, observers can’t help but feel nonplussed by the additions.

Aside from being treated to a royal experience, guests can also expect to take home some unique souvenirs that mark the royal wedding. Some of the memorabilia include shirts, engagement ring replicas, knitting patterns, iPad covers and more.

Prince William’s Stag Do takes to the Water

He may be royalty, but that’s definitely not stopping Prince William from having a stag party before he ties the knot with Kate Middleton on the 29th of April. Prince Harry, who William recently named as his best man for the ceremonies, is in charge of organizing the stag do, which according to rumours, will mainly revolve around extreme water sports and a pubcrawl by boat.
Prince Harry has apparently been very hands-on in planning the special event, and has set aside a budget for 20 close friends and relatives. Surprisingly, it seems that the party will be on the not so extravagant side, with each head with a budget of £100.

What’s in store for the royal groom? According to insider sources, a lot of speed boat racing and water skiing. The prince and his entourage can expect to have fun on wakeboards, surfboards and a yacht for a relaxing cruise by the coast. Observers of the couple think that the water sports themed stag party will be a welcome respite from all the hullaballoo that’s surrounding the couple in anticipation of their April wedding. By having it in the water, William and Harry hope to evade the prying eyes of the public, and of course, the media.

The royal groom and his friends will apparently be crashing at a close friend’s country house, where he can take a break from all the hectic wedding preparations. Needless to say, alcohol will be banned throughout the water sports activities, but there will be plenty of drinking to go around for everyone at night.
