Jenna Bush and fiance Henry Hager to wed Saturday May 10th

May 9th, 2008

He proposed to her last August during a hike on Cadillac Mountain in Maine’s Acadia National Park. They kept a tight led on the location and details of the ceremony up to the last minute. The ceremony is to take place on the President’s ranch in Texas tomorrow evening, 7:30pm.

After reading an article by Mike Celizic from the TODAYShow.com, I had to share some excerpts to all brides-to-be that are interested in celebrity weddings.

“The gown, described as simple and casual by the bride-to-be, will feature matte beading and a small train by Oscar de la Renta, who has designed several outfits for First Lady Laura Bush.”

“Jenna’s 14 attendants will wear short chiffon dresses by Lela Rose, a Texas designer, in green, blue, yellow and lavender.”

“After the wedding, The Baltimore Sun has reported, the couple will move into a 128-year-old, two bedroom, two bath townhouse on the south side of Baltimore that they purchased for $440,000. Henry Hager is the son of John Hager, a former lieutenant governor of Virginia and assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Education under President Bush who now serves as the chairman of the Virginia Republican party.”

Excerpts and photo taken from article entitles, “Jenna Bush dishes on her May 10 wedding. She tells Vogue magazine about her gown and location”, by Mike Celizic , click following for complete article http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24136243/.

New Wedding Movie: Made of Honor

May 7th, 2008

We all love wedding movies, and there is a new one released May 2nd. Patrick Dempsey (Tom) met Hannah (Michelle Monaghan), when the two were at college, and they ended up as buddies. Years later Hannah becomes engaged to a hunk of a Scotsman (Kevin McKidd). She asks Tom to be her “Maid of Honor”. He agrees hoping that he can win her over and stop the wedding before it’s too late.

Brides and grooms make some time this spring to see a romantic comedy, Made of Honor, in theatres now.

Favour Bags or Baskets for Out of Town Guests

April 29th, 2008

What a great way to welcome your out-of-town wedding guests who have never been to your home town. Creating baskets of goodies that will be waiting for them in their hotel room.

Prepare baskets filled with brochures of the city and attractions to see. A list of restaurants in the area. If they have children, list some sites to see that are kid friendly. Add a disposable camera and gift card to get pictures developed. This gesture will go a long way.

Let them know how much you appreciate the time they took to travel to be part of your special day.
