Top Wedding Pinterest Boards

Incase you haven’t heard, Pinterest is hot! Pinterest is the fastest growing social network on the Internet — so hot that it has had more traffic referrals than LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google+ combined in January!

So what does Pinterest have to do with your wedding? Pinterest gives you the ability to create bulletin boards. You can organize them by categories such as wedding flowers, wedding decorating, wedding venues, food ideas, wedding invitations, wedding hairstyles etc. Then as you surf the Web and you find things that you might want to remember or share, you can pin them to the appropriate board. Your friends and family will see your pins and can re-pin those things or comment on them. Or better yet, you can share them with your local wedding vendors when meeting for quotes and consultations.

Pinterest is an easy way to make planning a wedding more manageable. It’s like ripping the pages out of wedding magazines and taping them to your bulletin board — but digitally.

Here are some tips for Planning a Wedding on Pinterest taken from www.mashable.com

Tip #1 – Create Lots of Boards
It depends how detailed you want to get, but you should create boards based on the various wedding categories to make it easier to keep track of ideas and narrow down preferences. If you want some ideas of categories visit one of our local wedding directories such as Ottawa Wedding and use our categories. Pictures can also be pinned to more than one section.

Tip #2 – Follow Wedding Experts
In addition to following your friends and family for style inspiration, keep tabs on what the wedding experts of the world are pinning to their boards. Style Me Pretty is one of the most popular wedding presences on Pinterest, with over 160,000 followers and 52 boards. You can follow all of their boards or just a few that most interest you, such as “Hairstyles” or “Bouquets.” We have listed some recommended Pinterest users to follow down below.

Tip #3 – Pin & Re-Pin
Not only should you pin pictures you find on Pinterest, make sure you install the “Pin It” bookmark on your bookmarks tabs so you can pin a picture while browser other websites. For instruction on how to do this Click Here.

Tip #4 – 7. Download the Pinterest App
Instead of printing out pictures or bringing magazines with you to shop for wedding dresses and other items, iPhone users should download the app, so boards can be accessed while on the go.
